Taxis and ride-sharing apps at Panama Tocumen Airport

Ride-sharing apps

App-based transfer services such as Uber or Cabify cannot operate directly from the Arrivals area, as cabs can. Therefore, if you hire a vehicle from one of these companies, you will need to exit through the Arrivals level and cross the street to the parking area. Wait for your driver in the parking sector you selected in the app, between rows 15 and 18. If you cannot find him/her, contact them again through the app.

Rates

Fares to different points in the city or to the Panama Canal range from USD18.00 to USD40.00, depending not only on the distance, but also on the time of day. During rush hours, the cost usually goes up and is similar to a cab.

Cabs

In the Arrivals area, there is a tourist cab service (the only ones that can be boarded at the airport) with fixed rates. This service can be individual or shared. The trip to the city center takes approximately 30 minutes. For your safety, only use authorized or properly registered cabs.

From the airport to the city

Travel time to the old town: 30 minutes. During rush hours (Monday to Saturday from 6:00 am to 9:00 am) it can take up to 2 hours due to traffic on the Corredor Sur.
